That is all.

Man, the fitment on those pans is terrible, look at that huge gap in the middle.

I didn’t say floorboards *and tunnel cover*, now did I?

Wow, how bad was it when you started?

Nice work. Flerberds are metalwork job number 1 on the Fairlane, I’ve got to take care of that soon.

Subframe was okay, floorboards were toast. Rockers were okay, much of the lower door posts, rocker end plugs, tunnel cover, a good ways up the firewall: rekt. I took the opportunity while reworking things to raise the sills 7” (the reasons are complicated) and to rework the firewall to accommodate an engine push-back.

They look to be available, as long as you’re not going quite as extensive as I am. These being Mustang ones that I’m installing over subframe connectors, some abuse and cajoling have been required. You may note there are bolts in the edge of frame - they’re for pulling the floor and seat boxes straight together to weld up, and the seat boxes are off-screen in fresh weld-thru primer.

Is that “Floorboard” universal or is it something made for your specific car? I need something with ridges like that for my trunk floor. We ended up using a flat sheet of 14 gauge but I would much rather have something like that.

Here we see where I have been repairing the radio hole, after a bozo peeled the metal back.

What’s these new pans going in? Haven’t been on Oppo enough to stay up to date.

This subframe crossmember has actually been widened by about an inch, courtesy me and a torch. It’s still not as wide as a Mustang one, but will accept my new transmission.

This is called “making room for the engine”. Like so:

Bolts are good idea to pull the sections together. I may have to do some massaging as the available pans all seem to be for 2-door cars. Width I expect to be the same, but as long as the foot box to firewall section is more or less the same and I can go a couple of feet back to get into really good metal I should be ok, it doesn’t reach as far as the seat boxes.

Nearly everything from the hole down has been added to, patched, abused, recut, or otherwise fixed, on both sides. Also, the thresholds are raised up 7” for greater body stiffness (impending T-tops), lighter doors, and mild to moderate swimming and mud adventure. (Extent TBD).

I suspect the same “genius” as on the Falcon won out - i.e. almost no difference, just different doors and door posts. Hell, the sill/rocker on the Ranchero has a threshold made onto it all the way back into the rear fender, because it’s the same piece as any and all four-doors.

‘63 Ranchero.

Neither, actually. It’s for a Mustang. It just happens to be close enough to the right width, with the correct location of seat box, similar mounting, similar interface on the rear edge, and similar firewall (Ford Falcon) that I can make it work, because I’m a genius. There are cheap Mustang trunk pieces available at CJ Pony, if you’d like to investigate.

awesome! My trunk floor is basically done at this point, but I will probably need pieces for floor pans at some point since nobody makes anything for my car... I think I’m going to have to make my own rockers next.

These floor pans are only suitable for a fairly narrow car, but there are probably others out there. There’s some outfit that specializes in Chevy stuff that might have something that would work - don’t recall the name, unfortunately. A search for B-body floor pans should turn something up, though.

Absolutely. The roof is trashed, so why not? You can’t see well in this pic, BTW, but there are subframe connectors too.
